Dark

We are dark, aren’t we?

Girls are pink. Not Red, Yellow or Blue — the primary colours, but pink.

Every single female is invisibly assigned a shade of this hue that is made of fiery, confident Red, forcefully expected to reconcile with the calm, composed and silent white.

THAT, is not fair.

(The last line and Ross’s reaction, does it not show that men do not understand the web we are helplessly living in?)

Now start painting an imaginative picture that is hung up midair -

The mean girl, she’s associated with DARK pink,

The one with too many guys around, she’s a HOT pink,

The cute one giggles into a PASTEL pink,

All these normal girls are JUST pink,

The happy girl become BUBBLEGUM pink and the Calm one a FLAMINGO pink.

The angry one turns MAGENTA, doesn’t she?

And the list goes on but not too long. Isn’t the world short of women anyway?

We girls, we are complicated. I will agree. But definitely not confined to this particular hue.

We are in fact Five Hundred Shades Darker.

We are MAROON.

(P.S.

It’s a simple series of articles or snippets which are mostly my thoughts and the thoughts of other girls. I’m calling it 'Maroon' and you have the reason above.

Girls deserve their perspectives to be voiced out : )
